Compression Molding

Compression molding is a common process for production of rubber, silicone, and synthetic rubber parts. In this process a carefully weighed quantity of specially formulated rubber raw material is placed between the two mold halves which are then pressed together at high temperature. Excess material is cut away from the parts after removal from the mold.

Products Made by Compression Molding

Compression molding is used to make soft, elastic parts such as the following:

    • Seals and O-rings

    • Electrical insulators

    • Vibration dampening or impact softening pads

    • Soft protective jackets for various products

    • Silicone wrist bands
